Gabi Butler walking the runway for Rebel Athletic in the first fashion show on the Great Wall of China hosted by an American company.

Rebel Athletic, the leading innovator in cheer and dance fashion, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first American company to host a fashion show on the Great Wall of China. The event took place on October 12, 2023, during Rebel Athletic's annual overseas couture lookbook shoot, which was shot at various United Nations World Heritage sites in and around Beijing, including the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace – locations with immense history and global cultural significance. Today, on October 24, 2023, the world is invited to experience this incredible spectacle, with the release of the highly anticipated video of Rebel’s Great Wall fashion show.

The event took a local production crew over 24 hours to set up, with all items hand-carried as cranes are not permitted. A 2.5-mile stretch of the Great Wall was closed for the event, which included over 200 individual flood lights, the Rebel logo projected on three of the Wall’s guard towers, and over one mile of the Wall illuminated to provide the most spectacular backdrop for the fashion show.

The fashion show highlighted Rebel Athletic's unrivaled creativity and vision with fashion-forward designs created as inspirational pieces, combining athleticism and style in a manner that only Rebel Athletic can produce. The show ended with a customized drone light show over the Great Wall, featuring the Rebel Mark, that could be seen for miles.

"We are incredibly proud to have made history as the first American company to host a fashion show on the Great Wall of China," said Rebel Athletic's Founder and CEO, Karen Noseff Aldridge. "This experience was a testament to our commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining the intersection of sports and fashion. We were inspired by the rich history and majestic beauty of the Great Wall, which served as a stunning backdrop to our innovative couture designs."

The most famous faces in cheer walked the runway for Rebel Athletic including Gabi Butler, Morgan Simianer, Angel Rice, and Maddy Brum. Additionally Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2023, Morgan Greco represented the brand on this historic night.

The show was a mesmerizing fusion of traditional Chinese culture and contemporary fashion. Rebel Athletic's couture cheer uniforms and dance costumes were intricately crafted with meticulous attention to detail, paying homage to both the company's American roots and the cultural richness of China.

Karen Noseff Aldridge added, "Our collection celebrates the spirit of athleticism and artistic expression, combining the precision and performance of cheerleading and dance with the elegance of couture fashion. This event was a surreal experience that we are delighted to share with the world.  We hope it inspires our customers, our partners, and our fans.”

The fashion show will release today on Rebel Athletic’s social media channels at 6 PM CMT.
