Recent release 'Strange Creatures and Other Poems about Life' from Newman Springs Publishing author Marvin Druger is an intriguing collection of thought-provoking poems that encourage awareness and gratitude amongst all readers.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - October 26, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Marvin Druger, a biologist and a renowned science educator, has completed his new book "Strange Creatures and Other Poems about Life": a whimsical collection of poems and original illustrations that spark joy and creativity.

Marvin discusses his work, writing, "Every second of our lives, we experience something new. Even a repetition of the same experience is not exactly the same. We learn from everything that we do, and everything that we do becomes part of what we are. This book reflects on our everyday experiences and our environments."

He continues, "Sometimes life is sad; sometimes it is fun; sometimes it is ridiculous. These different moods and observations appear in the poems. They provide positive insights about life that stimulate readers to reflect on their own lives."

In his legendary general biology course at Syracuse University, author Marvin Druger tried to provide meaningful, motivational experiences that enriched the lives of students and helped them identify their unique talents and where they fit in life. His life-size cutout at the Syracuse University Bookstore welcomes students to the world of books and scholarship.

Marvin Druger was chair of the department of science teaching, professor of biology and science education, and Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor for Teaching Excellence at Syracuse University. He retired in 2009 and is now a professor emeritus. He taught science for more than 55 years to more than forty thousand students and served as president of three international science education organizations—that is, the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), the Association for Science Teacher Education (ASTE), and twice president of the Society for College Science Teachers (SCST). He also served as chair and secretary of the Education Section of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He has received numerous science education and teaching awards. In his retirement, he is a columnist for "Fifty-Five Plus" magazine (Druger's Zoo) and hosts a radio program on WAER-FM 88.3 ("Science on the Radio"). He also organizes and directs a Saturday Enrichment Program for Talented High School Students (Frontiers of Science) and does poetry readings for elementary school students and others. He also provides campus tours of Syracuse University for staff and students.

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Marvin Druger's creative collection of poetry encourages readers to think deeply about their impact on the world.

Recent release "Why and How Much Should I Be Giving to the Church and the Poor" from Covenant Books author Ben Scott shares the story of an incredible journey to Nicaragua that motivated the author and his wife to build villages in Haiti.

PIQUA, Ohio - October 26, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Ben Scott, who was born in Toledo, Ohio, in 1941, has completed his new book, "Why and How Much Should I Be Giving to the Church and the Poor": a compelling work that shares the many chapters of the author's journey in faith. The book references many Bible verses that had formed the author and his wife to their new way of life of giving/tithing.

Author Ben Scott was born to a middle-class family of four children. Growing up, Ben had very few examples of generosity or giving patterns. When he was 21, he bought a bar that became a successful college hangout. In his early thirties, he became a McDonald's restaurant franchisee, and he, his wife, and two children moved to Piqua, Ohio, to open their first restaurant. It was the incredible generosity and community involvement of his mentor and founder of McDonald's, Ray Kroc, that got his attention that started him on the path to following his mentor's example. Scott went on to open eight more McDonald's restaurants and retired thirty years later. He and his wife, Louise, enjoy playing golf, spending time with their two children and five grandchildren, and spending their winters in Florida.

Ben writes, "My brothers and sisters, sweet is the thought of mercy, but even more so is mercy itself. It is what all men hope for, but unfortunately, not what all men deserve. For while all men wish to receive it, only a few are willing to give it. How can a man ask for himself what he refuses to give to another? If he expects to receive any mercy in heaven, he should give mercy on earth. Do we all desire to receive mercy? Let us make mercy our patroness now, and she will free us in the world to come. Yes, there is mercy in heaven, but the road to it is paved by our merciful acts on earth."

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Ben Scott's new book was written with the hope of inspiring others. The Scotts have been raising money to build villages in Haiti for more than 12 years and talk about their Haiti experiences in the book.

Readers can purchase "Why and How Much Should I Be Giving to the Church and the Poor" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Joshua Martin’s New Book ‘Vigilante Blood’ is the Riveting Story of a Detective Who...

TANEYTOWN, Md. - October 26, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Fulton Books author Joshua Martin, a lifelong storyteller and writer, has completed his most recent book "Vigilante Blood": a gripping and captivating tale that centers around the growing threat of a secret criminal organization, and the only detective who has the right stuff to take them down.

"Welcome to the city of Greenville, where murder is never what it seems," writes Martin. "Detective Lynn Pocker and her team are battling crime on several fronts: two serial murderers and a secret organization that has been pulling the strings of crime and justice for decades. Our heroine will have to fight this and her own personal struggles as she herself becomes ensnared in the game of foxes and hounds.

"Lynn could feel her pulse quicken, her face flushing. Taking a few deep breaths in and out, she tried to gain control of her emotions. She took a quick sip of her hot lavender tea. A tornado of questions and emotions twirled within her mind. Everything she thought she had known, everything that she had buried when she entered the academy, things she had thought that had been locked away in her heart were resurfacing. The light of this newfound truth exposed her to new injuries. In her rising anger, she cried, 'This can't be! I saw his bullet-riddled body. Jay is dead, and that's the end of it! Whoever this, this asinine animal is doesn't know who he is dealing with.'

"...Does she have what it takes to rescue her town? Is she willing to do whatever it takes to get her happy ending? Or is this the beginning of the end for Greenville's infamous detective?"

Published by Fulton Books, Joshua Martin's thrill ride is a follow-up to his previous book "Blood Letters" and continues the story of Detective Pocker. As Lynn inches closer to discovering the dangerous truth surrounding this new spring of murders, her own personal life begins to unravel, and she'll be forced to make an impossible decision between her loved ones and saving the town she's sworn to protect.

Readers who wish to experience this mesmerizing work can purchase "Vigilante Blood" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes & Noble.
