Shoebacca donates $25,000 worth of shoes to the Dallas Dream Center's Back to School Event

DALLAS - August 4, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

This week, the New Dallas Based Dream Center will partner with local online retailer Shoebacca to bring $25,000 worth of new shoes for over 500 children during the Dream Center's Back to School Event for South Dallas residents in need.

"From day one, our company's sole mission has always been to help our local communities, and it remains our number one priority. We were so pleased to hear about the new Dallas Dream Center chapter and jumped at the opportunity to help their cause, especially during Back to School when these families need help the most. We are thrilled to be able to assist others during these challenging times and are grateful to have such a wonderful organization in our hometown." - Ryan Schlachter, President, Shoebacca.com

Los Angeles-born Dream Center is an organization that helps underprivileged communities with everyday resources such as food, clothing, hotline services, crisis services, pregnancy management and more. The Dallas chapter recently purchased the Old Gospel Lighthouse in South Dallas and is currently raising funds for its 10-million-dollar renovation to be able to offer permanent resources for the area and its residents. The center is slated to open its doors in early 2023.

In partnership with the R Foundation, Amerigroup and other Dallas sponsors, the Dream Center's Back to School Event will take place on August 6 at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the soon-to-be-built community center. The event will give families the opportunity to attend and enjoy carnival games, food trucks and more while also stocking up on supplies such as backpacks, food, school supplies and shoes from their newest donor, Shoebacca.com.

"Shoebacca has been an incredible partner of Dream Center Dallas and the communities we serve. Families are struggling to make ends meet every single day while carrying the burden of getting their children ready for a new school year and lacking the resources to do so. Supplying 500 pairs of brand-new shoes for children will give them a boost of confidence and hope - we believe that when people have hope they can do ANYTHING. We are so grateful for this generous gift to our community!" - Kacie Kintz, Dream Center Dallas Director

Brenda Mackall’s New Book ‘Innocence Stolen but Faith Restored by the Power of God’ Reaches to the Broken With a Powerful Testimony of the Lord’s Saving Grace

Brenda Mackall’s New Book ‘Innocence Stolen but Faith Restored by the Power of God’...

PIKESVILLE, Md. - August 4, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Fulton Books author Brenda Mackall, a warrior who battled through all of life's tribulations, has completed her most recent book "Innocence Stolen But Faith Restored By The Power Of God": a reflective opus that carries God's healing power for people who are living in trauma. It is a comforting piece for those enduring the nightmare and pain from the hands of a predator. It is a journey to recovery written by a victim for other victims.

Mackall shares, "As a young girl, I always feared the Almighty God. I was born and raised in Baltimore City, a second child among six siblings, and raised by a truly wonderful woman of God, Rev. Dr. Frances L Waters. I, too, have grown to become a warrior for the sake of God, knowing that I had a calling on my life.

I was led not only to reveal God's power by becoming a minister for Christ but also to share my experiences in life to those who may feel and think there is no hope. I'm expecting my story of events to touch deep into someone's heart that may have endured such trauma and pain in their life, and to let them know that God has the healing power for anything we face in this life.

I am a true witness to those that have little faith in this powerful and Almighty God. Allow yourselves to put just a little of your faith and trust in this powerful God. I want to brag on his Grace and Mercy like how he reached down so far while I was at my lowest point in life and he rescued me. I am no longer afraid of what others may think of me.

Once I publish my book and allow my light to shine, I want to show others His power to empower people. I believe in myself and feel that writing this book is a part of my life's purpose. I know I am placed on this earth to empower and uplift some bowed-down heads.

My motto in life is as follows: All things happen for a reason. Place all your fears, worries, frustrations, and loss of hope in the hands of the Almighty God. My desire is to convince, uplift, and inspire people about this awesome God. All I have done this far in my life is brag about what our God can do.

Remember the purpose of this book! Everything I'll go through has the potential to help someone along the way. I have the desire to use my book as a tool to leverage for a greater purpose, a meaningful movement, and a bigger mission for the sake of the Almighty God—a rape victim trusting God while being blindfold by the enemy."

Published by Fulton Books, Brenda Mackall's uplifting pages carry her own story while bringing strength and hope to the broken. She wishes to help others mend their heart and souls with faith in God and faith in who they are.

The author wanted to stress that no person dealing with trauma should be overlooked or taken lightly—regardless of gender.

Donna A. Bennett’s New Book ‘Orb Spiders Are Summoned for Protection in Waterfall Bay’ is an Amusing Science Fiction That Invites Readers to the World of Amazonika

Donna A. Bennett’s New Book ‘Orb Spiders Are Summoned for Protection in Waterfall Bay’...

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. - August 4, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Fulton Books author Donna A. Bennett, a newly-published author, has completed her most recent book "Orb Spiders Are Summoned for Protection in Waterfall Bay": an interesting adventure novel about a little girl who found herself transported into the book she was reading. Waterfall Bay is a beautiful piece of paradise located on the planet Amazonika. Unbeknownst to the little girl, the world she has slipped into will reunite her with her lost grandmother. She also found herself creating beautiful friendships throughout her journey. But in every good thing, there's always some bad things happening. Together with her newfound friends, Lezah is off to protect the realm from an evil tyrant and shape-shifter who's determined to ruin their world.

Bennett shares, "When nine-year-old Lezah moves with her mother to the town of Rambling Woods, her life changes forever—longing for adventure she explores her new surroundings, including the town library. As Lezah reads the book, she is transported to a mystical rain forest called Waterfall Bay where she quickly meets new friends.

There lived a wise water lily named Hazel. Being of sound mind and strong constitution as a human being, she mastered the ability to transform herself into a more-than-average-sized water lily. Her secret life in Waterfall Bay was unknown.

Waterfall Bay was a tropical rain forest on planet Amazonika's southern hemisphere. Having a love for butterflies and their many species, Hazel has to come to terms with confronting a lost Queen Alexandra's birdwing butterfly named Maya, who wants to take on the human form of a little girl. Maya has an amazing spirit and finds love, family, and friends added to her own family that she thought she lost but later were found.

Lezah's mother in the story, Zora, finds herself in a place she never thought existed when she discovers the library book found by her daughter and what lies inside. Finally, they all encounter their own unique abilities as changes were made in their lives.

War takes place in the rainforest; they must find a way to protect themselves and the fate of a new world that's coming. They face distractions made by Jeebu—an evil tyrant and shape-shifter who set out to take the orbs from the cities and their planets, leaving them helpless and weak. The orbs are the main power source for their planets.

The orb spiders are all around as they enforce protection in the rainforest of Waterfall Bay. Not only was there a war taking place, but there's also a lost amulet wrapped in an indigenous African textile made of interwoven cloth with strips of silk and cotton, which had been stolen from a place called Peaceful Trees."

Published by Fulton Books, Donna A. Bennett's book is a deeply absorbing tale with great world-building and interesting characters. It's a combination of fantasy and science fiction. It also has great subplots and well-written resolutions.

The read is rich in adventure, inspiring relationships, and valuable life lessons.

M.E. Marlowe’s New Book ‘The First Day of Many’ is a Compelling Account of a Cuban Family Who Established a Home and Legacy in a Foreign Land

NEW YORK - August 4, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Fulton Books author M.E. Marlowe, a medical professional specializing in the treatment of children's health, has completed her most recent book "The First Day of Many": a compelling piece that introduces a Cuban family's extraordinary choices in pursuit of their American dream. The catastrophic bombings in Cuba pushed Luisa Maria's family to leave their homeland. The nine-year-old girl left her home country with her father and cousin. This led Luisa Maria to stay with her aunt and uncle for a couple of days. The separation from her mother might be temporary but the child was still covered with anxiety. She's now a stranger in a strange land. How can she call it "home" when her family is not with her?

Marlowe shares, "Nine-year-old Luisa Maria thought she was dreaming when she heard her father whisper very softly and calmly, 'Honey, get up, stay low, and do not say a word.' He held her hand and, in a crouched position, led her to the top of the stairs where she saw her mother holding Luisa Maria's newborn brother. Her twelve-year-old brother was kneeling next to her mother. She thought this was not the way she would usually wake up every morning. Where was the unique sound of the tocororo bird letting her know that it was a brand-new day? Instead, she woke up listening to whispers, sounds of bombs going off, and faces full of fear. What is going on? Luisa Maria thought to herself. She saw her family all gathered by the large wooden mahogany door that guided the entrance to the grand front balcony of their home located in the suburb of Alturas de Belen, the Heights of Bethlehem, which was just outside Marianao, Cuba.

Maria Luisa asked, 'Where am I?' She thought in her semi-asleep state. She did not know what was happening. Was it real or all part of a terrible nightmare? She became frightened. It was an overwhelming fear, one that she had never experienced before in her life. It was not the fear that she had when her older brother would play tricks or pranks on her. It was not the fear she experienced when she would hear her Aunt Isabel's ghost stories from the old days. It was not the fear of the 'crazy' woman that would walk the streets, throwing stones at houses. It was not even the fear caused by the famous 'El Caballero de Paris,' the Count of Paris, a very well-known harmless transient that roamed the streets of Havana. This time it was different. This fear was one that left her speechless. For it was more than fear; it was sheer terror."

Published by Fulton Books, M.E. Marlowe's book is an inspiring story of resilience and perseverance. Luisa Maria is a great example that good things come to those who wait. She's a courageous young woman who withstood all the trials and tribulations before reuniting with her beloved family in a strange new foreign country.

This read will surely warm a reader's heart as it exemplifies the importance of family and strength in every circumstance.

Readers who wish to experience this heartfelt work can purchase "The First Day of Many" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes & Noble.

JACKSON, Wyo. - August 4, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Fulton Books author Stephen Lottridge, a former professor of Slavic languages and literature, a retired clinical psychologist, and a skillful writer, has completed his most recent book, The Old Bison, an absorbing narrative that details the author's journey from boyhood in the tiny mining towns of the mountain and sagebrush West to the present day. In this recollection, Stephen Lottridge presents, in eloquent prose, the intensity, joy and pain of human relationships and our intimate connection with the rest of the natural world.

"In twenty-three, intimate, often lyric essays, set primarily in the mountain and desert west, Stephen Lottridge leads us through the course of a deeply experienced and closely examined life, ranging from early childhood in the northern panhandle of Idaho through adolescence and adulthood to old age in western Wyoming. Signal events draw the reader forward as lessons in understanding and empathy unfold. Lottridge's precise, evocative, elegant prose dramatizes the pain and joy of family and marital relationships, the power and resonant kinship of the natural landscape and an enduring gratitude for mentors, talismanic beings and fellow wayfarers on the human journey. These stories offer hope and meaning for our world and species today, as turbulence and suffering, leavened by laughter, resolve into an abiding, compassionate embrace of all existence."
